List A Job
Your Business Service Representative will assist you in searching
for qualified candidates based on specific job requirements.
Jobs are listed on the internet through the regional job matching
database - CalJOBS. This database allows you to identify the
desired qualifications for each job opening. Once you've posted
a job opening, you can browse resumes of job seekers who meet
the job qualifications.
Staff will assist with the placement of these job orders,
or, you may choose to place the job orders and review resumes
directly through the Internet. No special hardware or software
is needed.
Contact the Employer Services Hotline (707) 863-3534 to Post
a Job Opening.
On-The-Job
Training
This program will reimburse up to 50 percent of the employee's
wages during the training period. This allows you to offset
the high cost of hiring and training new employees. We will
work with you to match an experienced applicant with the job
qualifications for an "On-the-Job" (OJT) training
position.
Job Readiness
& Retention
Employers consistently remind us that they are looking for
more than job skills and experience when hiring new employees.
Employers are looking for people who understand how to operate
in the workplace. The WIB has a special training program for
all enrolled clients designed to identify the skills, behaviors,
and attitudes that contribute to an employee's success in
the workplace. Job Readiness workshops include training on
"Attitude and Motivation" and "How to Shine
as a New Employee".
Once employed, WIB enrolled clients continue to receive support
from their Employability Specialist, who will assist them
in being successful on the job. The goal is to help the new
employee establish a solid foundation upon which to build
long-term success on the job. We provide assistance with any
job related challenges that clients may encounter, and, we
work with clients and employers to identify and career advancement
opportunities.

Customized
Training
Funding is available for specific skills training for new
hires or incumbent workers. The WIB can serve as a "broker"
with qualified local, educational/training schools. In some
cases, the WIB can seek additional targeted resources to fund
special customized training programs.
Some training programs may be fully funded by the WIB, and
others may require a "match" of training investment
dollars from the employer. Staff will work with each employer
on a case-by-case basis to determine training needs and develop
a plan as appropriate.
Tax Credits
The WIB assists employers with the following Federal Tax Credit
programs: Workers Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and Local
Area Military Base Recovery (LAMBRA).

We provide an experienced team to respond when a business
is facing a closure or mass-layoff. Outplacement services
for employees are provided in cooperation with your management
